2024 Annual Report and State of Changes
2024 Accomplishments
2024 was an extremely productive year for Changes, and I applaud and thank outgoing Board President Karen Gustafson for such great progress under her leadership. Our org was able to
- Offset missed fundraising budget with investment and seminar income and hold expenses under budget
- Update our Mission and Vision statements
- Reduce new member onboarding time to under 1 week (from initial info line call to orientation to meeting attendance)
- Expand our national presence to 28 states
- Deploy our first-ever Facebook video ads
- Produce an animated video of the Changes journey
- Revise and refresh all member docs
- Deepen cross-pollination across chapters
- Hold two Seattle-area social events plus picnic
- Transition Tues & Sat meetings from at-risk to healthy
- Present twice to Microsoft employee parenting group and receive a stipend for doing so
Board Transition
As we begin 2025, we have substantial transition in the composition and roles of our board members. In addition to Karen Gustafson stepping down as Board President, please note the following:
- Kathleen Coletta, Board member and Program Committee and Events Committee Chair, has stepped down after many years of service. She was instrumental in the refreshing of all our program content to reflect our fully online meeting format as well as establishing our additional social events to build community and connection.
- Ellen Lewis, Board Vice President and Board Development Chair, stepped down from her Board role but remains a Program Rep for Tuesday meeting.
- Paul Jensen remains on the board and now serves as our Vice President.
- Jenine Solack has joined the board and will co-chair the Program Committee with Stacy Piedmont.
- Soph Davenberry has joined the board and is a member of the Finance Committee.
- Jen Baisch and Ann Forrest have joined the board. Jen is Chair of Board Development Committee and Ann has volunteered to investigate how we might reach and maintain a more diverse member base (we skew heavily white and female.)
- Robert M. Huberth will continue as an independent board member and will continue to serve as Treasurer.
- Bill Mannion, Susan Veals, Dean Berry, and Terry Ann Olsen will continue as board members. Terry has recently volunteered to Chair our Outreach Committee.
- I have agreed to serve a one-year term as interim Board president, reprising the role I had from 2014 through 2018.
I thank our outgoing members for their service and their commitment to giving back more than they took, and I look forward to working with the new Board to further expand our reach and help more families.
A summary of our 2024 finances follows, as well as a list of 2024 donors. Please join me in thanking our donors, whose generosity is literally the fuel that keeps our scrappy little non-profit operating.
Sincerely,
Stephanie Mannion, Board President
